2) Reputation

3) Experienced faculty

4) Curriculum /Burden on children

5) Room for play and learn

6) Audio visual aids for learning

7) Facilities

8) No. of students per section

9) Medical facilities like first aid

1) Distance: The distance of the playschool from your home should be considered as the child should not preferably spend more time in journey. If due to some issues, you prefer to join him/her in a far away school, check for the transport facilities. Playschools these days take good care of children while boarding bus or school van.
2) Reputation: Know everything about the playschool from the parents of the children who are studying in the same school. Check for the popularity of the school in that area.

3) Experienced faculty: Get the details of the teachers in the school. Are they qualified enough? How do they deal with the kids? It is very essential to have well trained teachers for toddlers as they are just budding and trying to cope with the new environment. These things can be verified with other parents also.

4)Burden on children/ Curriculum of playschool: How much work should the children carry home? What is the syllabus covered in each class? Will the child be able to cope with it according his/her age? These are very essential things to be checked before selecting the right playschool for your kid.

5) Room for play and learn: All work and no play makes John a dull boy. Children should always be encouraged to play well. There should be good outdoor play facility in playschool. Different equipments like slide, swing and see saw are usually seen in Indian playschools. Also check the kind of toys like blocks etc., available in schools which enhance the thinking capabilities of the kid. Many Indian playschools today are equipped with toys for motor development skills and bringing out their creativity. Enquire about the safety measures taken for toddlers.

6) Audio visual room: Today, Indian playschools are equipped with audio visual rooms where animated CDs are played and children enjoy learning rhymes etc., by viewing them.

7) Facilities: Children should have good facilities in school like pure drinking water, comfortable seating arrangement etc., If they are served food in school, it should be prepared in hygienic environment. As kids are very small, they sleep at school. So, there should be good provision for this.

8) Number of students: Kids require personal care. Always enquire about the number of students in a section. Only if the strength of the class is less can the teachers give personal attention to all the aspects of kids’ development.

9) Medical facilities: Children might get hurt during play. They are also prone to dizziness due to less intake of food. Playschools should be able to give the basic first aid for such situations.

Playschools should always have the contact details of the parents and they should be able to inform them in case of emergencies.
